My approach

I work in two different ways, depending on what would help most.

Talk therapy

Sometimes a long-standing pattern or habit gets in the way. Saying yes before you’ve thought about it. Assuming someone is upset with you. Waiting for a manager to notice you’re drowning instead of telling them.

In talk therapy we slow that down. We look at where the pattern came from and what it’s been protecting you from. We work out which expectations are real and which ones you’ve assumed. Then we practice the harder conversations before you have to have them.

It’s uninterrupted time to think out loud about your own life, which most people don’t get anywhere else.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Sometimes talking alone doesn’t help.

ART is an evidence-based therapy for experiences and emotions that feel stuck in your mind or body. It uses eye movements and guided visualization to change how a difficult memory is stored in the brain, so it stops having the same hold on you.

You don’t have to talk through every painful detail of what happened. The process is structured, and you stay in control the whole way through. This is not hypnosis.

We check in on how distressing something feels at the start of a session and again at the end, so you can see for yourself what changed. When I ask how they’re feeling afterward, the words clients usually pick are calm, content, or relieved. Some of them are smiling.

Many of my clients feel relief within one to five sessions. For a lot of them, it’s the first time something has really shifted.

Common questions

How do I book a session?

Most people start with a free 15-minute consult to see if we’re a good fit. Click any “Book Now” button, pick a time and confirm. You’ll get a confirmation email right away. No referral needed.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. You can meet by secure video from home, anywhere in Saskatchewan, or in person at my Saskatoon office. ART sessions are in person.

Is counselling covered by my insurance?

Many health plans cover counselling with a Registered Social Worker. I bill several insurers directly. For others, I give you a receipt to send in.

What should I expect in my first session?

We get to know each other. I’ll ask what brought you in and what you want to change. Share only what feels OK. Then we’ll make a plan together.

How long are sessions, and what do they cost?

Counselling sessions are 60 minutes ($140), in person or online. ART sessions are 90 minutes ($190) and in person, after a first session with me. The consult is a free 15 minutes.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Life happens. You can change or cancel for free up to 24 hours before your session, through your Jane account.
