You’re doing so much for your kids. Who’s supporting you?

Sound familiar?

What parents come to me with

Parenting is a job with no days off. It can be full of love and still wear you down, and raising a child whose brain works differently can add even more to carry.

Tired all the time

An early night, a quiet weekend, even a few days away. None of it seems to fill the tank back up, and you’re exhausted again by Monday.

Always on alert

You’re managing the routines, the transitions and the hard moments, and you’re always bracing for the next one. You can’t remember the last time you fully relaxed.

Snapping at the people you love

You’re short with your kids or your partner over small things. Then you feel guilty about it for the rest of the night.

Carrying all of it

The forms, the appointments, the lunches. If your child needs extra support, add the school meetings, the waitlists and the funding forms. Asking for help feels like more work than doing it yourself.

Never a good enough parent

You second-guess every decision, and there’s always someone with an opinion. Even on a good day, it feels like you should be doing more.

Last on the list

You’ve put yourself last for so long that you’ve stopped checking what you need. By the time the kids are asleep, there’s nothing left for your partner or for you.

How counselling can help

What we work on together

I work with adults, so this time is for you, not your child. It’s uninterrupted space to focus on how you’re doing, which most parents don’t get anywhere else.

Name what’s draining you

The mental load, the guilt, the expectations other people put on you. We look at where your energy is actually going, and sort out which of it is really yours to carry.

Go easier on yourself

Most parents are far harder on themselves than they would ever be on a friend. We work on how you cope in the hard moments, and on meeting your mistakes with the same patience you give your kids.

Protect what matters most

We get clear on what matters to you, then practice protecting it. Asking for help. Saying no to one more commitment. Speaking up with the school or with family. We start small.

When a moment stays with you. Sometimes one hard moment keeps replaying: a frightening night, a meeting that went badly, a day you lost your temper, or something from your own childhood that parenting has stirred up. When talking it through isn’t enough, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) can help. Many of my clients feel relief within one to five sessions. Learn more about ART

Counselling with me isn’t an ADHD or autism assessment. If you’re looking for one, your family doctor or pediatrician is the place to start.

About me

I’m a parent too

Outside of work, I’m busy with my partner and our two young children, so I know how full the days can get. One of the things I enjoy most about being a counsellor is helping people feel less alone in what they’re going through.

You can come in tired, frustrated or unsure where to start. My style is warm, down-to-earth and non-judgmental, and I want you to feel genuinely understood as we get to the heart of what’s keeping you stuck.
